- In the event that the Odyssey Client becomes miss-configured or is uninstalled, CINS will not troubleshoot the issue, but will instead reinstall the original Odyssey Client.
- CINS will not assist end users in re-configuring the Odyssey Client to work with other wireless networks.
- CINS will ensure that all critical OS patches and service packs are installed on the portable computer prior to client installation.
CSU-owned portable Windows XP computers
- The user must submit a eQuest request to have the Odyssey Client installed on their portable computer
- Upon submitting the request, the user must bring the portable computer with a printed copy of the eQuest service request to CINS, leave the computer with an authorized member of CINS, and complete a check-in form.
- An authorized member of CINS will place the portable computer in a secured vault.
- A CINS technician will install or update the Novell Client and operating system patches on the portable computer.
- A CINS technician will install the Odyssey Client in accordance with CINS established procedures and configuration standards. The technician will also test and document wireless connectivity with the CSU wireless network.
- Upon completion of installation, configuration, and testing, the CINS technician will resolve the eQuest request and the end user will be notified by e-mail of the completion of the request.
- Upon receiving the completion notification, the end user or an authorized designee may retrieve the portable computer.
- Upon receipt of the portable computer, the check-out form must be completed and signed by the end user or the end user's designee.
Personal portable computers
- Personal portable computers must not have a Novell Netware client installed
- Personal portable computers that have a Novell Netware client installed may not connect to the CSU wired or wireless network.
- Users who wish to connect their personal computers to the CSU wireless network must make the following arrangements:
- Students who wish to connect to the CSU wireless network must contact the CINS Helpdesk between 8:00AM and 5:00PM.
- To schedule an appointment, students may call 706-507-8100, send an e-mail to helpdesk@colstate.edu, or visit the CINS Helpdesk on main campus on the first floor of the Center for Commerce and Technology.

- An authorized member of CINS will place the portable computer in a secured vault.
- The next available CINS technician will install the Odyssey Client on the student's personal portable computer in accordance with CINS established procedures and configuration standards. The CINS technician will also test and document connectivity to the CSU wireless network.
- When the CINS technician has completed the installation of the Odyssey Client on the personal portable computer, the student will be notified via e-mail and/or phone.
- Upon receiving the completion notification, users must come to the CINS Helpdesk, complete a check-out form, and retrieve their personal computer.
- It is assumed that all personal portable computers brought to CINS for installation of the wireless client are in proper working condition prior to delivery. CINS will not install the wireless client on a personal portable computer that is not in proper working condition. Furthermore, CINS will not make any attempts to troubleshoot or fix any existing problems on personal portable computers.
- In most cases, CINS will not know if a personal portable computer contains a supported wireless network card until the wireless client software has been installed and tested. If CINS determines that the wireless card in the personal portable computer is not supported, CINS will uninstall the wireless client and return the personal portable computer to it’s owner.
