Printing
Printing vending station
Provisions:
- Each registered student will have an allocation of 600 pages ($30.00) of printing for each semester at no cost. (front and back could result in as few as 300 pages) The print balance of $30.00 is based on black and white print costs being factored at .05 cents per page (600 x .05 = 30)
- The Novell login tracks individual print balances.
- Students can check their printing balance by rolling the mouse over the $ icon on the task bar in any computer lab. (Note: The program was previously set to $600.00. Now you will see $30.00)
- If a student needs to purchase a larger print balance, they can do so at the P-counter vending machine in the library ETC computer lab for .05 cents per page in whole dollar increments ($1.00 = 20 printed pages).
- The vending machine does not accept coins; does not give change and does not give refunds.
- Unused pages are not carried forward to the next semester.
Miscellaneous provisions:
- Misprint Credits: On occasion, a printer may not produce a page of an acceptable quality. To receive credit for misprints, students must bring the evidence to the CINS Open Lab CCT 124. The CINS Open Lab manager makes the final decision as to acceptable quality.
- CSU faculty and staff are given a printing balance of $10.00 based on black and white print costs being factored at .05 cents per page (200 x .05 = $10.00)
- If a faculty or staff needs an increased printing balance, they should submit a Remedy Request.
How do I check my allotment?
Run your mouse over the $ icon on the task bar.
Students are allowed 600 printed sheets of paper with 2-side printing resulting in as few as 300 sheets per semester.
Before printing
- Check for grammar and spelling errors
- Check page margins and the one-sided printing option (see 3rd item)
- It's always best to click on File then Print Preview (this will allow you to see your file as it will print – check number of pages)
